We are sad to communicate that the Research Friday The Singing Hand: Aesthetics of Piano Performance, by Dr. Mine Dogantan-Dack, that was supposed to take place next Friday, 26 April 2013, has been cancelled. Schaub Scholarship 2011-2013

The Divisone Ricerca e Sviluppo is pleased to announce the establishment of the Schaub Scholarship. Created with the support of the Foundation Fabio Schaub, this scholarship will cover the tuition costs for the most outstanding applicant to the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Research Methods in the Arts 2011-2013.

 


Master of Advanced Studies in Research Methods in the Arts

Call for applications, The MAS in Research is an internationally distinctive programme. With it, students will develop a robust understanding of artistic enquiry, while gaining the critical and analytical skills necessary to conduct independent research.

 


Divisione Ricerca e Sviluppo

The Divisione Ricerca e Sviulppo of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana was founded in the year 2000, and since then, has assumed an active role in the promotion of intiatives and research projects which feed into the daily lives and practices of musicians and teachers at the Scuola di Musica.

Our research is broadly divided into three distinct areas. This wide range of project areas promote research involving theory and methods across discplines of philosophy, psychology, education, sociology, physics and engineering.

Performance

Projects in this area of research address the concepts concerning the artistic production and perception of performance.

Composition

This area contains projects examining the processes of composition and the reception of such compositions.

Education & Outreach

This area contains projects involving the educational aspects of music learning as well as projects designed to involve larger communities in the music-making process.
