The Divisione Ricerca e Sviluppo of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana was founded in the year 2000, and since then, has assumed an active role in the promotion of initiatives and research projects which feed into the daily lives and practices of musicians and teachers at the Scuola di Musica.
Our research is broadly divided into three distinct areas. This wide range of project areas promote research involving theory and methods across disciplines of philosophy, psychology, education, sociology, physics, and engineering.
Projects in this area of research address the concepts concerning the artistic production and perception of performance.
This area contains projects examining the processes of composition and the reception of such compositions.
Education & Outreach
This area contains projects involving the educational aspects of music learning as well as projects designed to involve larger communities in the music-making process.
